Ink Type
UV-Curable Inks
As the fastest-growing ink segment in digital printing, UV-curable inks offer unique benefits for printing onto various substrates. Our signature Ultra UV ink offers instant curing, high print quality, adhesion, scratch resistance, light fastness, colour density, no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and more.
Common UV Ink Applications
Because of their versatility when used with inkjet printing systems, ultraviolet-curable inks are often used to print on a variety of both flexible and rigid substrates:
- Ceramics
- Glass
- Metals (aluminum, stainless steel, brass)
- Flexible packaging
- Acrylic
- Polystyrene (PS)
- Polycarbonate (PC)
- PVC
- MDF
- Textiles
- Wallpaper
Benefits of UV Inkjet Inks
UV ink curing systems provide high-quality printing with speed and meet various demands from users and printers with high substrate compatibility.
Environmental advantages: Low-VOC ink
The colour components of UV inks are directly cured and adhered to the media or substrate by UV radiation from mercury-arc or LED lamps. These inks emit low levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
High-speed printing
Achieve vibrant and detailed print results at high-speed printing. We have extensive experience developing standard and custom curable inkjet inks.
Offers hard and soft ink types for a wide range of applications
We manufacture UV-curable inks for a range of substrates. Hard inks perform well on surfaces of rigid materials, such as plates. Soft or flexible inks are suited for membrane panels, films, vehicle-wrapping films, and packaging films. Kao UV-curable inks have high media compatibility for a wide range of applications.
Available UV Curable Inkjet Inks
Find the right UV-curable inkjet ink solution for even the most complex printing needs.
Mercury Arc Lamp Curable Ink
Mercury lamps are the most commonly used UV ink curing systems in industrial inkjet printing. These inks respond to a broader spectrum of UV light.
LED Curable Ink
LED curing systems use less energy and emit less heat, achieving vibrant and beautiful colours on heat-sensitive materials, such as acrylic board, thin films, PVC, PET, etc.
Low Migration UV Ink
Specialized photoinitiators in these UV inks reduce the risk of migration for consumer products.*
